Full-time Job Title: Support Worker (Day Opportunities)
Location: Copeland, Cumbria
Salary: £12.82 per hour
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week + optional overtime
Shift Pattern: 8:00am – 8:00pm, Monday to Sunday (rota basis)
Contract Type: Permanent
Service Type: Non-personal care – Day Opportunities
About the Role
We are recruiting Support Workers to provide non-personal care support to adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs under the Cumberland Day Opportunities Framework. This role is focused on promoting independence, social inclusion and wellbeing through structured daytime activities.
Responsibilities
Provide community support and structured day activities
Support with daily life skills such as budgeting, travel and communication
Encourage participation in educational, social and recreational programmes
Deliver person-centred enablement support
Promote independence and positive outcomes
Maintain accurate daily records and progress notes
Safeguard service users and report any concerns
Work as part of a team to deliver consistent care plans
Requirements
Previous experience in care or support (preferred but not essential – training provided)
Good communication and teamwork skills
Reliable, compassionate and professional
Able to commute across Copeland
Female applicants preferred due to individual service user needs
Drivers preferred but not essential
